:: welcome. pony pie is a platform for the US-born UK-based cultural critic, performance maker and dramaturge Amanda Monfrooe. On this site you’ll find images and video from her performance projects, as well as blog entries that chart process, note passing inspiration, and document Amanda’s various endeavors as an artist and creative collaborator.
Amanda trained at Boston University’s College of Fine Art before completing her postgraduate studies at Glasgow University. Since that time Amanda has worked in collaboration with Arika, National Theatre of Scotland, The Arches, Rene Baker and Puppet Animation Scotland. From 2011-12 Amanda was an artistic associate of the National Theatre of Scotland and in 2012 Amanda recieved the Platform 18 Award.
In 2013 Amanda will begin writing and posting on pony-pie.com a number of longer research documents exploring political and popular culture perversities in preparation for a new performance series in 2014/2015.
