What I appreciate about this You Tube clip with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock as they explain their experience on the film The Lake House is that they reference their own relationship, their private relationship as two Hollywood stars who’ve previously worked together, in their reasoning for the film’s profundity. They also say actually some things don’t make sense in the film, the premise of the film more or less, and that that’s fine. That’s just a detail.
I hope that this is the case with my show. If shit doesn’t make sense, that’s cool, just go for the bigger picture and enjoy that without unpicking the details too much. And also, draw on the bigger picture outwith the film. Take to the film/play all your preconceptions and that will fill out the bits that don’t fit perfectly.
“You get lost in making it real…”
Yes, and that’s perhaps why we’re so desperate that the audience doesn’t bother with too many dramaturgical details. We’re lost and we’re hoping it’s not obvious.
They seem like nice folks.
