As the show takes shape so the list of costumes, props, puppets and masks begins to expand. On my hunt for steering wheels on ebay I thought, “Wonder what’s on offer if I search for ‘keanu’?” Well. Loads of DVD’s, Blue ray (whatever), and magazines from the 90′s with reviews of his films. Nothing is very expensive and there are plenty of fake autographs on offer – what the hell is the deal with those, who would be satisfied with a fake autograph? Then again, that’s a pretty interesting concept – who is that person that is satisfied with a fake autograph?
But I took a pic of a few of the more tempting items and one I even bid for – a giant movie poster for Johnny Mnemonic. Now, this show may be a post modern critique and all but that’s still a kick ass movie! There’s some cool stuff from Hong Kong but then I remember I’m a grown woman and going around with Keanu screen printed on my hand bag or attached in a key chain to my cell phone isn’t very mature or fashionable. I am a terrible fan. I know all I need to know from the movies and I keep my Keanu love where it belongs – in my own neurotic angst. You’ll catch a glimpse at the festival in September. Must say, though, if I could lay hands on that calendar I would…
